A day late, but not a dollar short (because we make no money off of this)! Another episode of Make Me A Gamer is live and ready for a listen! In this week’s episode, TMan’s brain takes a vacation as he talks about Fall Guys and the second season of Telltale’s Batman series. We also get to two more games from the Countdown Cauldron and answer a good question from the e-mail question bucket!

So for this article I wanted to highlight something crazy that happened on Wednesday of this week. A mass viral sensation occurred when a well-known streamer was bad at a recently popular game.
If you haven’t heard of Fall Guys, it’s the latest multiplayer stream game phenomenon to hit the internet. A lot of streamers are playing it and a lot of non-streamers are also enjoying playing it. It’s a simple multiplayer game that turns the battle royale premise on its heads – instead of a bunch of people shooting each other until they’re the last person standing, it’s a bunch of beans competing in game show-like obstacle courses and other silly activities until they’re the last bean standing. If you’ve seen Wipeout or Takeshi’s Castle, think that, but with weird bean guys.
It’s pretty simple and fun for anyone to enjoy and also happens to be free on PS4 if you have PS+. It’s the perfect maelstrom of people still being stuck indoors along with simple mechanics in a fun wrapper. It’s kid-friendly and super easy to market and draw appeal. And since summer is desolate for new games in the best of times, of course this’ll take off in popularity.
But this isn’t just about Fall Guys’ surge into the mainstream. This is about one specific streamer’s quest for a single win.
We said we were back and we meant it! Another episode of Make Me A Gamer is making it to your earholes right now! No use backing out now so might as well give us a listen!
This week we get into a vehement discussion about cursing, answer a few overdue questions from our inbox about zombies and immersion, and then do a large, rapid-fire dip into the Countdown Cauldron as TMan talks about quite a few games from his top 100 list of the decade, which includes:

Make Me A Gamer is back with a start to its unofficially labelled season 3! After three months of not recording due to pandemic stress, TMan and HarveyZ are bringing the good gamer times to everyone once again!
This week’s episode is pretty straightforward: we’re just recapping what we’ve been doing for the last three months in the gaming sphere. TMan and HarveyZ both talk about their experiences in Animal Crossing and Minecraft, then HarveyZ digs into his misadventures in Breath of the Wild. Finally TMan wraps up talking a little bit about GTA Online and XCOM: Chimera Squad.
We hope you enjoy and we’ll be back on our regular schedule going forward!

It’s been a long time since I added to this list. But since we moved on to #69 (nice) in the latest podcast episode, it’s time for me to release the next 10 games in my top 100 list for the 2010s! Enjoy!
This is the last episode recorded at the beginning of quarantine season! After much delayed editing due to *gestures at the world* we’re finally caught up and the next episode you hear will be timely and not recorded several months ago! This episode is still a good one, though, even if it’s not talking about the recent hot topic games. Please enjoy, and stay tuned for more regular Make Me A Gamer content in the future!

I didn’t like The Last of Us. I want that to be clear before we go into this. It was a combination of factors: the internet spewing absolute nonsense about how it was the greatest game of all-time, how it revolutionized storytelling and no video game had ever told a story before like it and all the EMOTIONS that people felt thanks to it was a major one. But I also played it on a harder difficulty that made the actual gameplay a chore, dropped it in the middle due to the difficulty and ended up finishing the second half a month or two later so I was never invested in the story, and really just preferred light-hearted Naughty Dog to “trying to make Citizen Kane: The Game” LOOK AT THESE EMOTIONS Naughty Dog.
I wasn’t going to get The Last of Us Part 2 because honestly I didn’t care about it. But much like Animal Crossing earlier this year, my will bent very soon after release and I picked it up – but for a very different reason than the calm serenity of AC. See, this game has become a hot button in gaming discourse and will be a hot button for months (if not years) to come thanks to all sorts of opinions flying.
I was gonna have opinions on The Last of Us Part 2 no matter what, so I decided it’d at least be better if they were informed opinions. If I didn’t like the game or if it was somehow worse than The Last of Us, I’d at least have tried it and could say so. Thankfully, TLOU2 is a better game than its predecessor – but it’s still not fantastic.
This review will be full of spoilers for all parts of the game, so be warned.
Hey! It’s slow going but we’re getting closer and closer to a regular weekly schedule again! Here’s another episode from the backlog that we recorded a while back. This is a special episode because not one, but TWO special guests are joining TMan & HarveyZ for a deep dive into Civilization 6 (as well as the Civilization series). Friends of the podcast Slim (previously seen) and Professor Q (in his podcast debut!) share their thoughts and opinions on Civilization 6 as all four of us have recently been playing it.
Then at the end we have a special Trivia-Off where HarveyZ tries to prove he’s been made a gamer as he goes up against Slim and Professor Q! Enjoy!
(This episode was recorded sometime in April 2020.)

It’s been two months since the last Make Me A Gamer episode was released. A lot has happened due to COVID and it feels like time has no meaning anymore. It’s been a hard couple months for me (TMan) so I haven’t felt like editing much, but I’m slowly starting to get back in the groove of things.
This episode was recorded over two months ago when TMan & HarveyZ had both just started playing Animal Crossing. We gush a lot about our villagers and talk about our experiences as both first-time Animal Crossing players. We also talk about #75 on TMan’s top 100 games of the decade, go over some news that is now several months old (like the Last of Us 2 delay, how relevant is that now!), and talk about the “new” character in Slay the Spire (that is also now not quite as new).
We’re still committed to giving you the content we recorded before the coronavirus depression took over, and I’ve got two more episodes to edit and hopefully release sooner than later before we start recording new material. I hope you stick with us, and we’ll come back stronger than ever here at Make Me A Gamer.
Also, this is releasing on my (TMan’s) birthday so happy birthday to me! Thank you all for listening, and I hope you are all doing well.

So obviously everything has been a little bit chaotic due to the state of the world. This episode was supposed to come out over a month ago but due to life it’s just coming out now. We hope you enjoy this throwback episode to a month ago when the coronavirus was not quite a global pandemic yet as TMan and HarveyZ talk Overwatch League and PAX East (and a little bit of Final Fantasy 7).
This Week On Make Me A Gamer
