So if you haven’t been listening to the Make Me A Gamer podcast, you’ve been missing out on the fact that I’ve composed my top 100 games of the decade list – from 2010-2019. I’ve been doling out a few numbers here and there as part of our Countdown Cauldron segment and while I won’t be going over every number in the podcast, I did promise to write up companion pieces that outline all the games.
In the podcast we’re working through sets of 10. We started with 100-91 and in the most recent episode moved to the 81-90 set, which means now it’s time for me to release the first group of ten. I tried writing up my Top 100 games of All-Time a few years back and ended up burning out in the 60s, so I’m going to try and keep the descriptions a little more brief so I don’t fall into the same trap. I will note the ones that were discussed on the podcast (and link to the related episode) and keep those even briefer.
Without further ado, #100-#91 of my personal favorite games of the 2010s.
Sorry for the delay! Life comes at you fast, and in TMan’s case it was so fast he had trouble finding time to edit the podcast! In addition, somehow during this particular episode TMan’s mic managed to pick up a radio station so editing was a little rougher. I think the background audio was scrubbed well enough that it should have come out okay, but if there’s something off about this week’s episode, that’s why! Apologies for making you wait, but let’s get on with this episode’s Make Me A Gamer entertainment!
This Week On Make Me A Gamer
Harvey Z Snaps: Parallel Parking vs Metered Parking
Breaking News: Overwatch League YouTube Deal & Coronavirus Delays
The Countdown Cauldron: #100 – Return of the Obra Dinn & #95 – Uncharted 3
Well it’s November now, and that means it’s time for a recap of what I played in October. Much like September was spent primarily playing Spider-Man, I spent the majority of October playing Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. I posted my review of it last week and you can find it here. Since I already talked in-depth about it, I won’t be including it on my “games I played in October” list since I’d just be retracing my footsteps over topics I already discussed.
However, despite me putting 80 hours into Assassin’s Creed, I still managed to find time to play a few other games. I played a few levels of Mega Man 11 on the Switch, and that wasn’t the only side-scroller I got into. I also played Castlevania Requiem, which is the rerelease of Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night. I also spent a little bit of time in Dark Souls Remastered. Finally, I played a really interesting game called Return of the Obra Dinn and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Toby Fox’s fantastic (and free!) follow-up to Undertale – Deltarune.
On this week’s episode of Make Me A Gamer, HarveyZ has actually played a game! He talks about his adventures with the XCOM 2: War of the Chosen expansion, and then TMan talks about an interesting new game he’s been playing – Return of the Obra Dinn. Then they get into a discussion about art and plagiarism as well as diving into the Rockstar 100 hour work week controversy. (This episode was recorded on October 20th.)
